Albany, NY -- New York Farm Bureau officials said farmers across the state are thrilled with the creation of the state Agriculture Energy Efficiency Program, which will help farmers pay for upgrades to electrical and natural gas power equipment and provide specialized energy efficiency services to the State’s agricultural sector.
"Programs like this are what we need coming from Albany," said Dean Norton, president of New York Farm Bureau. "This cost-sharing initiative will help our farmers modernize their facilities and equipment, improve farm sustainability and help us better compete with farms in other states and nations."To view the rest of the story click on the following link:

Pete Malinowski, aquaculture teacher, NY Harbor ScBeneath a floating dock off Governors Island, tucked behind the squat octagonal white ventilation tower for the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, there are oysters growing in New York Harbor.

Meteorologist Mark McLean said he's hesitant to make long-range predictions, but an expected busy hurricane season coupled with cooling in the Pacific near the equator suggest warmer than normal temperatures near Rochester through mid-September.

Warmer Summer Expected in Rochester Area - MaybeNew York State Tractor Pulling Championship Returns to the Fair

Dozens of New York's most powerful, custom-built machines will square off at the grandstand on Sunday, Sept. 5 as the New York State Tractor Pulling Championship returns for the 2010 New York State Fair.
The all-day event is so big, it will be divided into two sessions to handle all the competitors. Light super stock, 4-wheel drive and 2-wheel drive classes will compete at 1 p.m. Super farm, heavy super stock and modified classes will compete at 7 p.m. The pits will be open to fans during the intermission between sessions.To view the rest of the story click on the following link:
